School-Aged Language Strategies

Whew! It's been a crazy few weeks at school and Rockford Speech. Many parents and teachers I work with have been asking for strategies so I have been working on creating some materials and I thought I would share them!




There are many strategies that I use for students for language in speech therapy. In the past, I would give teachers and parents a sheet with a list of different strategies to try at home. But I feel that it was overwhelming at times. So I decided to do things differently this year and make the strategies more individualized for each student. I also put examples of each strategy to show how it can be used. Because I felt like some strategies were easier to implement in the home versus at school, I changed the strategies a bit for parents/caregivers. The strategies below are ones that I created for a specific student for her teacher to try in the classroom. Hope you find it helpful!
